Hobart Hurricanes pacer Nathan Ellis suffered a nasty collision with the advertising board while fielding during the 2024-25 Big Bash League (BBL) encounter against the Hobart Hurricanes at the Ninja Stadium on Friday, January 10. The right-arm bowler was taken off the field for a while, before returning to complete his quota of overs in the first innings.
The incident took place during the 15th over when Ellis went chasing after an overthrow. The bowler put in a full-length dive while trying to keep the ball away from the rope. However, his momentum took him well past the ropes, resulting in him colliding head-on against the advertising boards on the ground.
Nathan Ellis was motionless for a while, which prompted the medical staff and his teammates to rush into the scene. He did not lose consciousness, and got up to interact with the medical team, before walking off with them.
The pacer relayed to the teammates and the broadcasters that he was fine, and the damage from the collision was not severe.
