Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel shared a heartfelt moment on social media on Friday, January 10, posting a picture with his parents, Nem Chand and Ranji Jurel.
The 23-year-old, who was part of India’s squad for the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour of Australia, took to Instagram to share the photo, where he was seen enjoying a meal with his parents.
He captioned the post:
“Papa ke haath ka khaana maa ke hath se. [Food made by dad's hands, with love from mom's hands]."
The right-handed batter featured in just one match during the tour, where he had a tough outing, scoring 11 and 1 in the two innings. From the team's perspective, India began their campaign with a dominant 295-run victory in Perth, but overall, it was a challenging tour.
The hosts fought back in the second Test, winning by 10 wickets. The third match in Brisbane ended in a draw, largely due to rain disruptions.
India lost their momentum at crucial moments in the Boxing Day Test, eventually losing by 184 runs with just 12 overs remaining on the final day. Australia then asserted their dominance with a six-wicket win in Sydney, securing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a 3-1 series victory.
With this series win, the hosts also secured their spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, joining the Proteas, marking the first time India will not be part of the summit clash.
Dhruv Jurel has featured in 6 matches for India across two formats
Dhruv Jurel made his debut for India in a Test match against England in 2024, where he had a solid outing, scoring 46 runs.
