The right-handed batter made his India debut same year and has not looked back since. As a skipper, Virat Kohli has led India to 95 wins in 131 matches across formats. He is the most successful Indian Test captain with 40 wins in 68 games.

Virat Kohli, in an old interview, revealed how his sister Bhavna once thrashed him to teach him a lesson. He said in a conversation with Suni Chhetri (via news 9 live):

“Meri behen ne mujhe bohot maara, bohot maara, bohot maara hai. Main na tu karke baat karta tha, aisehi merko aadat thi, merko tu karke baat karne ki. Pata nahi, ek din didi ko pata nahi kya gussa chadh gaya, tab aisa maara mujhe, Ta nikalna hi bandh ho gaya muhn se, ‘aap’ nikalta tha, ‘aap kaise ho, aap kya kar rahe ho’.”

Translated version:

“(My sister has beaten me a lot. I used to address her casually by saying ‘tu,’ it was a habit of mine, I used to talk to everyone with ‘tu’. I don’t know what happened to my sister one day, she got angry and she thrashed me so badly that, I stopped saying ‘tu’ and started saying ‘aap’).”

Virat Kohli recently met his brother and sister at the team hotel in Delhi following the T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue spent a few hours in the capital before a felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
