Anvay Dravid, the younger son of Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid, displayed his talent by scoring an unbeaten century for Karnataka Under-16 in the quarterfinals of the Vijay Merchant Trophy 2024-25 against Punjab.

Batting first, the Punjab team declared their innings at 742/9, with Gursimran Singh leading the charge, scoring 230 off 426 balls, including 32 boundaries. Additionally, six other Punjab batters contributed with half-centuries.

For Karnataka, Anvay Dravid came in to bat at No. 4. While wickets continued to fall at the other end, the right-handed batter anchored the innings. He built a crucial 95-run partnership off 202 balls with Dhyaan M Hiremath for the seventh wicket.

Anvay played a stellar knock, remaining unbeaten on 110 from 234 balls, including 12 boundaries.

Karnataka finished their innings at 280/7, and the match ended in a draw. However, Punjab advanced to the next round based on their higher first-innings score.

Earlier in the tournament, 16-year-old Anvay Dravid also scored a century against Jharkhand, remaining unbeaten on 100 off 153 balls, with 10 boundaries and two sixes.

Overall, he finished as the leading run-scorer for Karnataka in the tournament, amassing 459 runs in eight innings, which included three half-centuries and two centuries.

While Rahul Dravid's younger son, Anvay, has been gaining attention in the junior divisions, his elder son, Samit Dravid, made his debut in the senior men's T20 circuit in 2024. He was part of the Mysore Warriors squad for the Maharaja T20 Trophy in Karnataka.

The batting-allrounder scored 82 runs at a strike rate of 114 across seven innings but he didn't bowl during the tournament. Meanwhile, the Mysore Warriors, under the leadership of Karun Nair, claimed the championship, defeating the Bengaluru Blasters by 45 runs in the final.
