The Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday, January 10, announced that legends Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Misbah-ul-Haq and Mushtaq Mohammad have been inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame for 2024. The four former cricketers join the likes of Abdul Qadir, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan and Zaheer Abbas in an illustrious group.

The PCB inducts two former players each year into the Hall of Fame. But, since there were no inductions in 2023, four players were included in the prestigious list for 2024.

Inzamam is Pakistan's leading run-scorer in one-dayers, with more than 11,700 runs. He's also third on their leading Test run-scorers, with 8,829 runs. He's a former captain of the Test and one-day teams.

Misbah too is another former Pakistan captain. He played 162 matches in the one-day format, scoring 5,122 runs at an average of 43.40. He hit 42 fifties but ended his career with a highest score of 96*. Misbah also scored over 5,000 runs in 75 Tests and played 39 T20Is, where he made a name for himself as a cheeky batter.

Mohammad, meanwhile, scored 3,643 runs and claimed 79 wickets in 57 Tests from 1959-1979. He was the captain during Pakistan's first Test win in Australia in Sydney in 1977 and also featured in 10 ODIs.

Looking at Anwar's stats, he notched up 4,052 runs in 55 Tests at an average of 45.52, with 11 tons. Known for his elegant stroke play, the southpaw amassed 8,824 runs in 247 ODIs at an average of 39.21, with 20 hundreds and 43 half-centuries.

PCB hails legends inducted to Hall of Fame for 2024

While releasing a statement, PCB lauded all the four players inducted to the Hall of Fame for 2024 for their humungous contribution to Pakistan cricket. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi commented:

"Mushtaq Mohammad is regarded as one of Pakistan's finest captains, known for his astute leadership and inspiring style. Inzamam-ul-Haq's immense talent and match-winning ability have left an indelible mark on the sport.
"Misbah-ul-Haq took charge of the Pakistan team during challenging times, guiding it to the pinnacle of Test rankings and achieving a historic series win in the Caribbean. Saeed Anwar, with his natural grace and classical technique, redefined the role of an opener and thrived against some of the world's best bowlers under all conditions."

Meanwhile, Pakistan are preparing to host the 2025 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9.
