In a humorous moment, Ireland and Gulf Giants bowler Mark Adair tried to clean umpire Ahmed Shah Pakteen's glasses after he ruled a caught-behind appeal as not out. This incident took place during the third game of the ILT20 2025 between Gulf Giants and Sharjah Warriorz on Sunday, January 12.

On the fourth ball of the second over in Sharjah's innings, Mark Adair bowled a length delivery that shaped away outside off. Jason Roy tried to steer the ball to the point region but only managed to edge it through to the keeper.

Despite the clear contact, umpire Pakteen ruled it not out. The Gulf Giants then called for a review, and UltraEdge confirmed a clear spike, leading the umpire to overturn his decision to out. In a lighthearted moment after the decision was changed, Adair walked past Pakteen and tried to clean his glasses with his jersey.

Here’s a video of the moment:

Chasing 175, Sharjah lost Johnson Charles (12) and Jason Roy (0) cheaply. Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Rohan Mustafa (45 off 33) then formed a crucial partnership, adding 105 runs off 66 balls for the third wicket. While Cadmore continued to score at one end, Sharjah kept losing wickets at the other, eventually finding themselves at 148-7.

Cadmore then single-handedly steered Sharjah to victory, taking a double off the final ball to seal the win. He remained unbeaten on 83 off 56 balls, with six fours and four sixes, leading his team to a three-wicket triumph.

Skipper Tim Southee starred with the ball for Sharjah in the first innings

Sharjah Warriorz won the toss and chose to bowl. Skipper Tim Southee provided a strong start, dismissing the Gulf Giants openers Adam Lyth (11) and James Vince (3) early. The middle-order batters then fought back, with Rehan Ahmed (46 off 27), Jordan Cox (38 off 32), and Shimron Hetmyer (36 off 23) all making valuable contributions.

Mark Adair remained unbeaten on 20 off 10, as the Gulf Giants finished their innings at 174-7 after 20 overs. For Sharjah, skipper Southee took three wickets.
