Ireland’s left-arm spinner Aimee Maguire has been reported for a suspect bowling action after the first ODI of the three-match series against India. The 18-year-old bowler performed fairly well, claiming three wickets for 57 runs in her eight overs.

Under ICC rules, Maguire must have her action tested at an ICC-approved facility within 14 days of being reported. However, she is allowed to continue bowling until the test results are confirmed.

In response to the news, Graeme West, the Director of High Performance at Cricket Ireland, stated:

"The staff and players are rallying around Aimee, reassuring her that she will return with a stronger action and will continue to shine on the international stage for many years to come.”
"The experience and expertise that we possess within our High-Performance Coaching and Support Services at Cricket Ireland will provide Aimee with the care, support, and guidance to deliver the remedial program which will begin following the team's return from India,” West added [as quoted by ESPNcricinfo].

Meanwhile, Maguire has represented Ireland in 11 ODIs, taking 16 wickets. She has also played in nine T20Is, claiming an equal number of wickets.
