Former Australia batter Michael Hussey has remarked that Sam Konstas got a quick reminder of how his antics in the fourth BGT 2024-25 Test could fire back after being on the receiving end of a sendoff by Jasprit Bumrah. The youngster was dismissed for eight runs in the second innings of the BGT 2024-25 Boxing Day Test at the MCG on Sunday, December 29.

Konstas made an early impression with the bat on the opening day by taking on Jasprit Bumrah early and was a constant presence on the field in the following days with his theatrics. The youngster riled up the crowd on multiple occasions with hand gestures and even mimicking Kohli's shoulder barge to him to the Indian section of the audience in the stadium.

Bumrah imitated Konstas' hand gestures, raising his hands towards the crowd after castling him in the first session on Day 4 to register a perfect response.

Hussey remarked that Konstas was bound to be on the other side of such interactions.

"It always comes back to bite you at some stage. I wonder if Sam Konstas is back in the dressing rooms thinking, 'I wish I charged him'. It just makes the battle between the two nations all the more spicy," Hussey said on Fox Cricket (via The Wide World of Sports)

Konstas had spoken about taking on Bumrah again midway through his first innings heroics. The pacer, on the other hand, had responded by claiming that the youngster was lucky not to lose his wicket inside the first couple of overs.

"You don't see a lot of theatrics from Bumrah" - Mark Waugh on the ace bowler's reaction in 4th BGT 2024-25 Test

Former Australia batter Mark Waugh opined that Konstas' antics even triggered someone like Bumrah, who is known for keeping his emotions in check on the field.

"You don't see a lot of theatrics from Bumrah, but when Sam Konstas was dismissed, he thought, 'Yep, I'm here as well'," Mark Waugh remarked via the aforementioned source.

Jasprit Bumrah is testing the Australian batting unit much like he has done all BGT 2024-25 series. So far, he has bowled 10 overs, where he has conceded only 24 runs with a wicket to show for it as well.
