Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues struck her maiden international century and celebrated in a unique style during the second ODI of the three-match series against Ireland. The match is being played on Sunday, January 12, at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
Coming in at number 4, Jemimah played confidently, bringing up her fifty off 62 balls. She then increased the tempo and reached her maiden century off 90 balls with a boundary. As her teammates applauded, Jemimah removed her helmet and celebrated in style, using her bat like a guitar to mark her brilliant achievement.

The right-handed batter scored 102 runs off 91 balls, including 12 boundaries. In total, Jemimah has accumulated 1,089 runs in 41 ODIs, with an average of 29.43, along with six fifties and one century to her name.

India won the toss and elected to bat. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal came out all guns blazing, adding 75 runs in the first 10 overs. The pair put together a brilliant partnership of 156 runs off 114 balls for the first wicket. Smriti made 73 off 54 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and two sixes, while Pratika contributed 67 off 61, including eight boundaries and one six.
Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues kept the momentum going, ensuring the innings didn’t slow down. The duo put together a remarkable partnership of 183 runs off 168 balls. Harleen narrowly missed a well-deserved century, getting dismissed for 89 off 84 balls, with 12 boundaries.
Jemimah, however, made the most of her opportunity, registering her maiden ODI century with a knock of 102 off 91 balls. The Women in Blue finished with 370-5 after 50 overs, setting a new record for their highest team total in ODIs, surpassing their previous best of 358.
