Former Team India skipper Kapil Dev turned 66 on Monday, January 6. The legendary all-rounder celebrated his birthday with his close friends, including former teammate Chetan Sharma.

Sharma, ex-chairman of selectors for India's senior men's team, posted a picture on his Facebook with Dev. In the photograph, the two can be seen enjoying a meal at a restaurant.

Sharing a picture of Dev's birthday party, Sharma captioned the post:

"Kapil Paji ka birthday Party On."

It is worth mentioning that Sharma served as the chief selector for India's men's team from December 2020 to November 2022. The entire selection committee was disbanded following India's unsuccessful 2022 T20 World Cup campaign.

However, Sharma was reappointed as the selection committee chairman just two months later. His tenure ended after he resigned from his post in the aftermath of a sting operation, where he made many controversial statements.

Following his retirement, Kapil Dev was roped in as the head coach of the Indian team. He held the post from 1999 to 2000. Since then, he has made a career as a cricket commentator and expert.
