The Kerala Cricket League 2024 saw two games played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, September 9. Trivandrum Royals and Calicut Globstars secured impressive victories over Kochi Blue Tigers and Alleppey Ripples, respectively.
In the first game, the Tigers batted first and got off to a disappointing start. However, they managed to post a respectable total of 131, with Nikhil Thottath (37) top-scoring. Vinod Kumar was the pick of the Royals bowlers with four scalps, while skipper Abdul Basith bagged three. In reply, the Royals were off to a decent start as Basith (50*) shone bright with the bat to seal the chase in the last over.
The second game saw Globstars’ Akhil Dev V running through the Ripples' batting unit with four scalps, bundling them out for 90. In response, Arun KA (34*) top-scored for the Globstars, as they completed the chase under 12 overs.

Despite getting out on a duck, Jobin Joby continues to lead the batting charts with 201 runs in six innings with a top score of 79. Salman Nizar retained his second position with 199 runs in five matches, with 72 being his top score. He remained unbeaten on 9 off 10 on Monday.
Abdul Basith climbed from ninth to third with a match-winning half-century on Monday, taking his tally to 182 runs at a strike rate of 159.65. Vishnu Vinod slid to fourth with 158 runs at a prolific strike rate of around 170. Anand Krishnan could add only six to his tally and remains fifth with 154 runs.
Mohammed Azharuddeen dropped to sixth position with 150 runs in five innings. After scoring 10*, Maruthungal Rasheed Ajinas climbed one place to take the seventh position with 148 runs. Abhishek J Nair (143) and Varun Nayanar (141) slipped two places each to take eighth and ninth spots, respectively.
Shaun Roger scored 20 to be 10th with 125 runs in six innings.
Kerala Cricket League 2024 Most Wickets List
Sharafuddeen N M is still the best bowler in the tournament with 13 wickets in five matches at an exceptional average of 7.15. Basil Thampi also retained his second place with 12 scalps in six games.
Akhil Scaria took two wickets on Monday to remain third with 11 dismissals. Anand Joseph took two wickets to rise from seventh to fourth with nine scalps. Biju Narayanan is fifth with eight wickets at an economy rate of 6.35.
With an exceptional performance of 4/20, Akhil Dev put himself among the top 10 bowlers in the tournament. He is sixth with eight scalps in three appearances.
Abdul Basith was impressive with a triple strike as he is positioned seventh with eight wickets at an economy rate of 6.88. KM Asif and Jerin PS take subsequent positions with eight wickets apiece.
Sreehari S Nair bagged two wickets to take his total tally to eight. However, his inferior economy rate of 7.7 places him in the 10th position.
