Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 36 of IPL 2024 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, April 21, in the first game of the double-header. KKR are third in the points table, with eight points from six matches, while RCB are last, having won only one of their seven matches.
While Kolkata and Bengaluru clashed at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the first half of IPL 2024, KKR registered a thumping victory by seven wickets. Batting first, Virat Kohli's unbeaten 83* off 59 guided RCB to 182-6. Kolkata chased down the target in 16.5 overs. The match sums up Bengaluru's woes in IPL 2024. They have been over-dependent on Kohli in batting, while their bowling has been pedestrian.
KKR have been highly impressive in IPL 2024 but have lost two of their last three games. They went down to Rajasthan Royals by two wickets in their previous match at the Eden Gardens. Batting first, they put up 223-6, with Sunil Narine slamming 109 off 56. Jos Buttler's hundred, though, lifted RR to a stunning win.

According to Graeme Swann, it’s very hot out in the middle, and the pitch is going to suffer because of it. He said that the surface is dry, adding that most of the wicket is very even and looks very flat.
Swann, though, pointed out to one area where there's a big circle of dryness. It's around the spinner's length, so they might get some help, he added.
