Former cricketer Dinesh Karthik has heaped praise on Team India for the massive turnaround in the ongoing rain-affected second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur. India's batting approach on day four at the Green Park Stadium earned plaudits from many in the cricketing fraternity and the 39-year-old former wicketkeeper batter was no exception.

Karthik took to his official social media handle 'X' (formerly Twitter) on Monday, September 30, to express his views about the home team's batting. Here's Dinesh Karthik's tweet:

"Kudos to team India for turning what could've been a Lifeless test into such an exciting one. This is what all fans would've wanted and you've given them their wish. Well done @ImRo45 @GautamGambhir."

Team India produce batting masterclass in Kanpur

With two complete days of the Test match called off due to incessant rain and a wet outfield after the 35 overs of action on day one, play resumed on the morning of day four with the sun shining bright in Kanpur. The visitors continued their innings from their first-day score of 107-3 and eventually ended up managing 233 runs in 74.2 overs.

India began their first innings and in no time, openers Yashavi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma ensured the team's score reached 50. With Jaiswal scoring a boundary on the last ball of the third over bowled by Hasan Mahmud, Rohit Sharma's men went past 50 runs to register the fastest team 50 in the history of Test cricket.

Despite the skipper's dismissal when the scorecard read 55 runs in 3.5 overs, the carnage continued as the team went on to also register the fastest team 100 in the Tests when Jaiswal smashed yet another boundary off Hasan Mahmud on the first ball of the 11th over. The southpaw scored 72 runs off 51 deliveries before walking back to the pavilion.

While Virat Kohli crossed the milestone of 27,000 runs in International matches during his 35-ball 47-run knock, KL Rahul scored a quickfire 68 runs off just 43 balls. In reply to Bangladesh's first innings total of 233 runs, they scored 285-9 in just 34.4 overs before declaring. Also, their run rate of 8.22 is now the highest in an innings in Tests (200+ runs).

At stumps on day four, Bangladesh were at 26-2 in 11 overs in their second innings with an exciting final day's action in store.
