Team India's T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav's love for the popular Bollywood comic caper Hera Pheri franchise is known to all. The cricket star has recreated dialogues from the two movies on many occasions.
Suryakumar was back at it again as he recently posed like Akshay Kumar's iconic character 'Raju' from the Hera Pheri franchise. Sharing the picture on his Instagram story, the 34-year-old wrote a reference from the movie:
"Ye Lakshami chit fund ka office kidhar hai re baba."
On the cricketing front, Suryakumar is part of Mumbai's squad for the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. He has played two matches so far in the season and has 38 runs to his name at an average of 19.
He also featured in Mumbai's lineup in their title-winning campaign in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The star batter chalked up 132 runs across five games at a strike rate of 132 and an average of 26.40.
"I love watching a lot of comedy movies" - When Suryakumar Yadav spoke about his favourite films
In a video shared by Mumbai Indians (MI) on social media, Suryakumar Yadav was asked to name his favorite movies. The swashbuckling batter responded by saying that he loves watching comedy films.
He said:
"I love watching a lot of comedy movies because that keeps me really happy when I come back from a game or when I am not doing anything, when I am home, that time I love watching comedy movies. Andaz Apna Apna is one movie which I love watching, then Chup Chup Ke, Hera Pheri, first part, these are the three-four movies that I love watching again and again."
Meanwhile, Suryakumar has had a memorable year. The highlight of it certainly was his awe-inspiring juggling catch to dismiss David Miller in the last over of the 2024 T20 World Cup final. The Men in Blue went on to win the trophy.
