On Friday, June 21, 2024, the Malwa Panthers and Bhopal Leopards squared off in the ninth match of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024 while Rewa Jaguars and Jabalpur Lions locked horns in the next.

Jabalpur Lions moved from second to the first spot after a six-wicket win over Gwalior Cheetahs and a two-wicket win over Rewa Jaguars. Meanwhile, Bhopal Leopards jumped from fifth to second position after defeating Malwa Panthers by 39 runs.

Gwalior Cheetahs dropped from the top to third with two wins and as many losses while Malwa Panthers and Rewa Jaguars slipped one position each following their previous losses. The Panthers are ranked fourth with one win and two losses in four games while the Jaguars are placed at the bottom of the points table with just one win in three games.


Aniket Verma smashes century for Leopards

In the first game, Gwaliors Cheetahs scored 55 runs, losing five wickets in the process. However, Sagar Solanki's 31*(12) with six boundaries helped Jabalpur Lions win the game by six wickets.

Bhopal Leopards racked up a massive total of 278/4. Aniket Verma smashed an outstanding 123-run knock off just 41 balls, featuring eight fours and 13 sixes, and Harsh Gawli scored a half-century off 33. Ankush Singh and Siddarth Patidar also added 39 and 27 runs to the total, respectively.

In reply, Malwa Panthers’ Shubham Sharma 81(38) and Akshat Raghuwanshi 105 (43) brought the side to a commanding position but weren’t backed by other batters. Vandit Joshi scored 19 runs off 14 while the rest were bundled out in single digits.

In the third game, Rewa Jaguars batted first and set a 190-run target for eight wickets. Pankaj Sharma and Harsh Dixit scored half-centuries while Parth Goswami added 18 runs and the rest of the lineup hardly scored. Aryan Pandey of Jabalpur Lions picked up a three-wicket haul while Tripuresh Singh took two.

In response, Abhishek Pathak of the Lions smacked a 37-ball 74-run to provide a strong start. Their wickets then kept falling at the other end but Aman Bhadoriya stood strong and played a match-winning knock of 54, comprising nine boundaries.

Shivam Shukla spearheaded the Jaguars’ bowling attack with a five-fer while Kuldeep Sen, Kulwant Khejroliya and Vikrant Bhadoriya picked up one each.
