On Saturday, June 22, 2024, the Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament featured a total of eight matches, with four taking place in Group A and Group B each. Ace Capital CC continue to remain undefeated with five wins. Nondescripts Cricket Club moved from third to second after a comfortable victory against Panadura SC.
Sinhalese Sports Club jumped from sixth to third position with two wins in four games. Bloomfield descended from second to fourth with two wins and as many losses.
Tamil Union Cricket And Athletic Club climbed up from seventh to fifth position while Ragama Cricket Club dropped from fourth to sixth with two victories in four games.
Chilaw Marians Cricket Club and Panadura Sports Club occupy the next two spots with three losses, respectively, while Negombo Cricket Club sit at the bottom of the table with four losses in as many games.
Here's a look at Group A:
Colombo Cricket Club strengthened their first spot in Group B after defeating Kurunegala in the previous game. They have won four out of five games and boast a NRR of +4.121.
Colts CC are the second undefeated team in Group B with four wins in four games. Moors bagged their third win and secured the third position.
Badureliya SC and Kandy Customs CC are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, with five points each. Similarly, Police Sports Club and Burgher Recreation Club hold the next two spots with one win in four games.
Nugegoda Sports Welfare Club and Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club are placed at the foot of the table with three and four losses each.

Sinhalese Sports Club dominate Group A while Colombo stay unbeaten with four wins
Sinhalese Sports Club defeated Ragama Cricket Club in the first game by eight runs. They had set a 287-run target with top scores from Avishka Fernando (53), Krishan Sanjula (48), and Dasun Shanaka (48). In reply, Sinhalese bowlers did well and bowled Ragama out to 278 in 49.1 overs
Chilaw Marians CC batted first in the second game and scored 168/10 in 47.2 overs. In reply, Tamil Union achieved the target in 33 overs, with Mohammed Shamaaz scoring a match-winning half-century.
Panadura Sports Club were bundled out for 161 runs in 40.5 overs. Lasith Embuldeniya and Chamika Gunasekara took three wickets for Nondescripts Cricket Club. In response, Nondescripts chased down the target in 32.5 overs with half-centuries from Kamil Mishara (61) and Sahan Arachchige (50).
Bloomfield and Ace Capital met in the fourth game of the day where the match was reduced to 27 overs. Bloomfield batted first and set a target of 160 runs for seven wickets. In reply, the Ace Capital reached the mark in 23.4 overs.
Police Sports Club suffered a six-wicket loss against Colts Cricket Club in the fifth game. The Colts achieved the 139-run target in 22.2 overs with Yashodha Lanka’s 34, Ravindu Rasantha’s 34, and Dhananjaya Lakshan’s 38.
The sixth match between Kandy and Nugegoda SWC ended with no result. Kandy posted 106/10 in 25.1 overs. However, while chasing, Nugegoda managed to score 47/2 in nine overs but the rain interrupted and played spoilsport.
Moors Sports Club bagged a seven-wicket victory over Burgher Recreation Club. Burgher scored 177 runs for the loss of nine wickets. In reply, Moors reached the DLS target of 136 runs in 26.4 overs.
Kurunegala and Colombo Cricket Club squared off in the last game of the day. Colombo achieved the 104-run target in just 12.5 overs with a match-winning knock from Nishan Madushka (81).
