MLC 2024 Points Table: Updated Standings after MI New York vs Washington Freedom, Match 14

MI New York and Washington Freedom squared off in the 14th match of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 on Wednesday, July 17. The Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas hosted the contest.

Washington Freedom continue to sit at the top of the points table after their win over MI New York. They have won four out of their five games and qualified for the playoffs.

Texas Super Kings and San Francisco Unicorns hold the next two spots with two wins each. While Texas have six points from five games, San Francisco have five in four games.

Los Angeles moved from fifth to fourth with one win and three losses in five games. They have a negative net run rate (NRR) of -0.842.

Meanwhile, MI New York dropped to fourth following their 94-run loss against Washington. They also have three losses and one win in five matches.

Seattle Orcas are still at the bottom of the points table with three losses in four games. They boast a negative NRR of -1.056.

Travis Head and Jasdeep Singh guide Washington to fourth victory

Washington Freedom batted first and posted a challenging 183-run target for the loss of five wickets. Andries Gous (59) and Travis Head (54) scored half-centuries while Rachin Ravindra smashed 31 off 14. Rashid Khan and MI New York captain Kieron Pollard picked up two wickets each while Romario Shepherd took one.

In reply, MI had a rough start, losing five wickets inside the powerplay. Later, Romario Shepherd top-scored with a 25-ball 14-run knock while the rest were dismissed in single digits except Trent Boult (16), resulting in them getting bundled out for 88 in 13.3 overs.

Jasdeep Singh led Washington’s bowling attack with a three-wicket haul, conceding 14 runs in three overs. Marco Jansen, Lockie Ferguson, and Glenn Maxwell chipped in two wickets apiece while Ian Holland took one.
