Indian cricket legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been issued a notice by the Jharkhand High Court in regard to a case filed by his former business partners Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das. The court has ordered the former India captain appear in the high court in connection with the matter and explain his stand.

As per news agency PTI, Diwakar and Das, Directors of Aarka Sports and Management Ltd, had entered into an agreement with Dhoni to open cricket academies using the former keeper-batter's name. The cricketer, though, alleged cheating on the part of Diwakar and Das and filed a criminal complaint against them in Ranchi earlier this year.

The complaint petition by Dhoni alleged that Diwakar and Das continued to open cricket academies using his name even after though he had revoked their authority in 2021. The 43-year-old claimed that he was cheated of ₹15 crore.

Following Dhoni's complaint, Diwakar and Das also moved the High Court, challenging the decision of the judicial magistrate in Ranchi to take cognizance of the criminal complaint against them.

CSK CEO recently opened up on MS Dhoni's IPL future

Dhoni has been retained by Chennai Super Kings as an uncapped Indian player for ₹4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The franchise CEO, Kasi Viswanathan, shared his thoughts on Dhoni's IPL future and commented that he can play for the team as long as he wants. Viswanathan told Ambati Rayudu on Provoke TV:

"As far as Mahi bhai (brother) is concerned, you know he keeps everything to himself. It comes out at the last moment only. Knowing the passion he has for CSK, and also knowing the following he has, and he also mentioned in one of the interviews that he'll play his last game in Chennai, we're hoping that he will continue as far as CSK is concerned.
"As long as MS wants to play, the doors are open. Knowing him, his commitment, and his dedication, I'm sure he'll always take the right decision," Viswanathan went on to add.

Apart from Dhoni, CSK retained Ruturaj Gaikwad (₹18 crore), Ravindra Jadeja (₹18 crore), Shivam Dube (₹12 crore) and Matheesha Pathirana (₹13 crore) ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.
