The Mumbai Indians (MI) will lock horns with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, May 17. The two teams met each other earlier this season when the Super Giants won by four wickets.

MI have already been knocked out of the tournament and are at the bottom of the points table. The five-time champions have managed to win just four out of their 13 games this season. Hardik Pandya and company will look to play for pride and sign off with a win tonight in front of their home fans.

LSG, on the other hand, lost an excellent opportunity to make it to the playoffs three times in a row by losing their last three games. However, they still have a glimmer of hope and will look to return with a win tonight.

Fans in Mumbai will likely turn up in huge numbers to support their favorite team tonight at the Wankhede Stadium. However, much to their dismay, another rain-marred encounter is on the cards. The city has witnessed rains over the last few days and thunderstorms are expected on Friday leading up to the game.

Although there is no chance of thunderstorms post 8.00 pm IST, there is a 20 percent chance of rainfall, according to Accuweather.

The temperature will be high, ranging around 34 degrees Celsius. However, the actual feeling will be around 40 degrees Celsius due to high humid levels.

"Sometimes we batted well or sometimes we bowled well" - Naman Dhir on what went wrong for MI in IPL 2024

The Mumbai Indians are one of the most successful sides in the tournament. They have won five titles, which is the most along with the Chennai Super Kings. However, they couldn't live up to their expectations this season and were the first team to crash out of the competition.

Reflecting on what went wrong for MI this season, young all-rounder Naman Dhir said:

"Sometimes we batted well or sometimes we bowled well. The coaches have also spoken with us that it was not our season, yet we worked hard. Yes, Jasprit bhai did not get enough support to his bowling in some matches, but we will learn from it."

Can the Mumbai Indians beat the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) tonight? Let us know in the comments.
