Netflix to release India-Pakistan documentary series ahead of 2025 Champions Trophy

Popular OTT platform Netflix is set to release a documentary on the Indian and Pakistan cricket teams. The documentary series is called 'The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan.'

It is set to be released on Friday, February 7, 2025, right ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The series will feature of some the greatest players from both nations such as Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Shoaib Akhtar, Waqar Younis, Ravichandran Ashwin, Javed Miandad, and Inzamam-ul-Haq.

The rivalry between India and Pakistan is considered among the fiercest rivalries in the history of the game. The documentary aims to trace the cricketing rivalry between the two nations and dig into the past.

Netflix India released a poster of the documentary on social media ahead of the much-anticipated release. The poster highlights the famed opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.

India and Pakistan to clash on 23rd February in ICC Champions Trophy

The upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin on Wednesday, February 19, with hosts Pakistan taking on New Zealand. While Pakistan is set to host the tournament, India's matches will be played in Dubai.

The Men in Blue will face Pakistan in the highly awaited Champions Trophy clash on Sunday, February 23, at the Dubai International Stadium. Both teams share a fierce rivalry on the field. They played each other twice in the previous edition of the Champions Trophy back in 2017 in England.

India beat Pakistan in their group-stage encounter of that tournament. The two nations met once again in the final as well. However, Pakistan avenged their group-stage loss by registering a one-sided victory in the final to win the Champions Trophy.

Therefore, the hosts are also the defending champions as the tournament is set to return after last being held in 2017.
