“Party mode from weeping mode” - Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife reacts to retirement posts after BGT 2024-25 3rd Test

Team India's spin bowling ace Ravichandran Ashwin's spouse Prithi Narayanan took to her official social media accounts and reacted to the various posts about the spinner's retirement. Ashwin announced his retirement yesterday and mentioned that he would be flying back to India soon after.

The cricketing fraternity was left in a state of shock after Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement after the third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. He made the announcement in the post-match press conference while he was seated alongside Team India skipper Rohit Sharma.

Following the announcement, many congratulatory posts started coming in for the 38-year-old on social media. Fans celebrated his achievements, with some calling him an architect of India's home dominance that lasted for 12 years.

Prithi Narayanan shared a few posts on her official Instagram account where his career overall was being celebrated. One of the stories which she shared said:

"Thank you spin king @rashwin99. Time to throw the party of the year @prithinarayanan."

Prithi replied:

"Need to move from Party mode to weeping mode."

"It won't be possible now" - Ravichandran Ashwin opens up on his captaincy ambitions when playing for Team India

Ravichandran Ashwin was welcomed with a lot of pomp and show after returning to India from Australia. In an interaction with reporters outside his house shortly after his arrival, Ashwin was asked about his ambitions of leading the Men in Blue. He replied:

"It won’t be possible now, it’s all over (laughs). But I don’t have those regrets. I have zero regrets. I have seen many people from a distance who live with regrets. I am not ready to live a life like that, I have no regrets."

Ravichandran Ashwin retires as India's second-highest wicket-taker across all formats, behind Anil Kumble (956), with 765 wickets to his name. He was a part of the squad that won the 2011 ICC Men's World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
