Team India's stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the dressing room after being out of action during India's essay with the ball on Day 2 of the fifth Border Gavaskar Trophy Test. The Syndey Cricket Ground is hosting the series finale, with Australia leading 2-1.
Bumrah had to go off the field for scans after he looked uncomfortable bowling the second over of the post-lunch session. Bumrah seemed to have held onto his back when trudging off the field and changed into his training gear. He was later escorted by the support staff who seated him in the team car and took him to the hospital for scans.
While the reports and official updates concerning the scans are yet to be made public, Bumrah was back at the venue and went straight into the dressing room. With Team India ending the Australian batting essay and then batting, the ace pacer didn't need to take the field immediately.

With no update on whether Bumrah will be available to bat in India's innings, there remains a cloud over his fitness and complete participation in the game.
Team India lose five wickets but lead by 133 runs in the fifth BGT 2024-25 Test
After bundling out Australia for 181 and taking a slender lead of four runs, Team India openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (22 off 35) and KL Rahul (13 off 20) started nicely. But a flurry of wickets saw a short collapse, with the visitors slumping to 78/4.
Later, Rishabh Pant (61 off 33) scored the second-fastest half-century for an Indian in Test cricket history to ensure the batting unit had a good platform to carry ahead.
At the moment, Team India are 129/5 after 27 overs and need to win the Test to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
