Team India's ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah shared a sweet note to wish his mother Daljit and his masi (aunt) a happy birthday on Saturday, November 30. The star cricketer shared a few pictures with them along with a heartfelt message on his official Instagram handle.

Bumrah was raised by a single mother. Daljit worked as the principal of the Nirman High School in Ahmedabad. Expressing his love for his mother and aunt on their special day, the fast bowler wrote:

"Happy birthday to my mom and masi. Words are not enough to describe what you mean to us. I hope you both have a great day and an even better year ahead."

Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh responded to Bumrah's aforementioned post, asking the bowler to wish his mother and aunt on her behalf. She wrote:

On the cricketing front, Jasprit Bumrah is in Australia with India's Test team for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He was India's stand-in captain in the recently concluded Test series opener in Perth, with regular skipper Rohit Sharma unavailable due to paternity leave.

Bumrah stole the show with his leadership and bowling exploits. He bagged eight wickets across two innings and was adjudged the Player of the Match as the visitors clinched a comprehensive 295-run victory.

"We became very close as a family because we went through a lot of ups and downs" - When Jasprit Bumrah opened up on his childhood

Jasprit Bumrah was in second grade when his father succumbed to hepatitis B. Opening up on his childhood, Bumrah mentioned that his family went through financial struggles after the sudden death of his father.

He stated that while their life suddenly changed, the family grew closer during the tough period. Speaking on The Indian Express' Express Adda show earlier this year, Bumrah said (via TOI):

"As I told you, my father passed away when I was in second grade and my sister in fourth grade. Then we became really close as a family because life suddenly changed. We had some financial issues as well. So my mother started working.
"We became very close as a family because we went through a lot of ups and downs. But since then, that bond has become stronger and stronger. And that has only grown over the years."

Jasprit Bumrah earned widespread praise for his performance in the Perth Test against Australia. The second test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be a pink ball Test. The contest will take place in Adelaide from December 6.
