Pondicherry Premier League 2024 Most Runs and Most Wickets after Karaikal Kniights vs Villianur Mohit Kings (Updated) ft. Akash Kargave & Adil Tunda

The Pondicherry Premier League 2024 season continued on Tuesday, August 6 with another double-header at the Cricket Association Pondicherry Siechem Ground.

In the first match of the day and the third of the competition, White Town Gaints bowlers Adil Ayub Tunda (2/21) and Bharat Sharma (2/26) restricted Yanam Royals to just 124/8 from 20 overs.

For the Royals, opener Ganga Sridhar Raju cracked 55 off 47 balls while middle-order batter Ameer Zeeshan contributed 28 off 20.

In response, the Gaints gunned down their 125-run target in just 11.4 overs at the expense of two wickets. After opening batter Jay Pande carved 38 runs at the top, Akash Kargave blasted 10 boundaries and a six in his 23-ball 56*-run knock.

Manogaran Pooviarasan waged Yanam’s lone rebellion with the ball by accounting for the wickets of both White Town openers.

The planned fixture between Karaikal Kniights and Villianur Mohit Kings later in the day at the same venue, meanwhile, was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Akash Kargave blazed his way to the top of the Pondicherry Premier League 2024 run-scoring charts with 56 runs. Yanam Royals opener Ganga Sridhar Raju also cracked a scintillating half-century to take the second position in terms of season’s highest number of run makers.

Mohit Kale (51 runs) slipped to number three on the list and he is followed by Ritesh Gudge (41 runs) and Ragavan Ramamoorthy (40 runs) as fourth and fifth most successful batters of the season. Jay Pandey and Bhanu Anand are ranked sixth and seventh on the list with 38 runs each, while Ankit Sharma (31 runs), Ameer Zeeshan N (28 runs) and P Akash (26 runs) round up the top 10 charts.

Indrajeet Kumar continues to remain the highest wicket-taker of the Pondicherry Premier League 2024 season for picking up a five-wicket haul on the opening day of the tournament. Paras Ratnaparkhe, who collected figures of 3/24 on his maiden outing, finds himself at number two on the bowling table.

Sabhay Chadha, Adil Tunda, Bharat Bhushan Sharma and M Pooviarasan take the subsequent four slots on the standings with two wickets each to their names.

Sagar Udeshi, Fabid Ahmed, Mohamed Safeequddin and Karthik B Nair occupy the final four positions on the top 10 charts with a wicket each to their season’s credit.
