On Friday, July 5, 2024, Bulls XI and Sharks XI squared off in the inaugural Pondicherry T20 League 2024 match while Panthers XI and Lions XI locked horns in the eighth. Bulls XI batted first against Sharks XI and set a 157-run target, losing seven wickets in the process.
Ajay Rohera led the batting department with his 52-ball 81-run knock, comprising 10 boundaries. Mohit Mittan (35*) and Anish Vishagan (11) also made decent contributions while the rest were dismissed in single digits.
Ravi Yadav and Rajakavi Rajagopal took two wickets each for Sharks XI while Sabhay Chadha, A Kamaleeshwaran, and S Roshan picked up one apiece.
In reply, the Bulls chased down the target in 19.5 overs thanks to skipper Ramachandran Raghupaty (39), Jay Pandey(34), and Satish Jangir’s quick-fire knock off 23 runs from 12 balls.
Panthers XI defeated Lions XI in the second game by 12 runs. Batting first, with Ayudh Sharma’s 63, Krishna Pandey’s 35, and handy contributions from Karan Kannan and N Zeeshan, they had posted 150.
J Manikandan picked up a three-wicket haul for the Lions while Subramaniyan Kannan and Rishi Raut claimed two wickets each.
In response, despite Lions skipper Mohit Kale scoring a half-century, they were bundled out on 138. Panthers’ captain Sidak Singh and Karan Kannan led the bowling unit with three wickets while Vishal Khokhar and Julian Jacob took two apiece.

Ajay Rohera smashed an excellent 81-run knock at a strike rate of 155.77 to secure the top spot in the most runs list.
Ayudh Sharma (63) scored a fifty for Panthers XI, featuring nine boundaries, and claimed the second position in the leaderboard. Mohit Kale (56) of Lions XI also struck a half-century in the same game and finished third on Day 1.
R Ragupathy (39), Krishna Datt Pandey (35), Mohit Mittan (35), and Jay Pandey (34) occupy the next four positions, respectively.
Pondicherry T20 League 2024 Most Wickets List
Karan Kannan, his teammate Sidak Singh, and J Manikandan picked up a three-wicket haul on Friday to bag the top three spots with an economy of 5.67, 6.25, and 9.00, respectively.
Mohit Mittan and Subramaniyan K hold the fourth and fifth positions, respectively, with two wickets each. Similarly, Rajakavi Rajagopal, Vishal Khokhar, Jullian Jacab, Karthik B Nair, and Rishi Raut took two wickets each to occupy the remaining spots, respectively.
