Rio Ferdinand mistakenly refers to Virat Kohli as 'Kola' [Watch] 

Manchester United and England legend Rio Ferdinand was recently seen mistakenly refereeing to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli as "Kola," during an interview with social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia.

The former footballer, who also has a successful YouTube channel, attended a podcast with Allahbadia and was asked if he remembered any big names from Indian cricket. At first, he responded with the great Sachin Tendulkar's name and then mistakenly referred to Virat Kohli as "Kola," before getting corrected.

Ferdinand was one of the most fearsome central defenders in his prime, forming a partnership with Nemanja Vidic at Manchester United. He won six Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League title with United, among many other accolades.

Virat Kohli endured a lean run of form in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Kohli endured a lean patch of form in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy that Australia won 3-1 by beating India in the final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday, January 5. Kohli's returns were minimal throughout the series, ending with just 190 runs from nine innings at an average of 23.75.

Kohli's only spectacular knock came in the second innings of the first Test in Perth, where he scored an unbeaten 100. Apart from that, his highest score in this series was 36 in the first innings of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Kohli's dismal form was one of the reasons why Indian batting faltered.

India captain Rohit Sharma made the dramatic decision to sit out of the final Test in Sydney owing to poor form. However, Kohli was persisted with by the management, but he did not repay their faith, ending with scores of 17 and 6.

Team India's next big assignment will be the Champions Trophy, starting February 19. Kohli is expected to feature in the ICC tournament.
