Team India's ODI and Test skipper Rohit Sharma has returned to training in a bid to regain his form. The 37-year-old had an awful Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Test series where he accumulated only 31 runs across five innings at an average of 6.20.
Owing to his poor form, Rohit 'stood down' from the fifth and final Test in Sydney, with vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah leading the side. There were murmurs about his retirement from Test cricket but Rohit confirmed his future, saying he wasn't going away anytime soon.
And now, Rohit has joined the Mumbai team during their training session ahead of their next Ranji Trophy clash against Jammu and Kashmir.
In a video shared by Revsportz Global, Rohit Sharma arrived at the training in his car. He was seen taking out his kitbag and entering the Bombay Kurla Complex (BKC) for training.

Multiple reports suggest that Rohit might turn up for Mumbai for their Ranji Trophy clash against Jammu and Kashmir. However, he hasn't confirmed his availability as of yet.
Rohit Sharma's last appearance with the Mumbai team came in 2015 against Uttar Pradesh.
"He holds the potential to rectify his performances in red-ball cricket as well" - Manoj Tiwary on Rohit Sharma
Former India batter Manoj Tiwary has backed the incumbent India Test captain to return to form despite calls for his retirement from certain sections. He reckons Rohit can still prove his naysayers wrong with good performances in red-ball cricket.
Speaking to IANS (via Zee News), Tiwary said:
“The performance is not going well, there is no doubt about it. If the performance was going well he would not have dropped himself. After what happened in Sydney in the final Test, he himself clarified in his interview that he was not scoring runs, which is why he felt he should not play."
“When you are not scoring runs you lose your self-confidence and if your confidence is down, then your run-scoring percentage also falls down. He will definitely work on his batting. He is a blistering run-scorer in white-ball cricket and holds a lot of potential, a player of his caliber might take time to return to form so I believe he holds the potential to rectify his performances in red-ball cricket as well," he added.
