Indian captain Rohit Sharma produced another scintillating knock in the 2023 World Cup, to help his team win, this time against Pakistan in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14.

Following a fantastic 131 against Afghanistan, Rohit scored 86 off just 63 balls and blew the Pakistan bowlers away with some incredible strokeplay. The target of 192 wasn't a massive one, but Rohit ensured that even with the early loss of Shubman Gill, Pakistan weren't allowed to take the upper hand.

Although he missed out on what could have been his 8th World Cup hundred, Rohit was hailed by fans on X (formerly Twitter) for his explosive knock. Here are some of the best reactions:

Rohit Sharma picked up from where he left off against Afghanistan

The very first delivery of the Indian innings from Shaheen Afridi was just picked up by Rohit Sharma over square leg for a boundary and the intentions were clear from the Indian captain that he meant business.

Shubman Gill also looked in delightful touch and it was as if he was never away from the team. The youngster did get caught at point after a few fine shots, but then it was the partnership between Rohit and Virat Kohli that put the result of the game beyond doubt.

Kohli played second-fiddle in a 56-run stand for the second wicket, where his partner Rohit continued taking the Pakistan bowlers on. When Kohli was dismissed, the Indian captain once again toned down his aggression until Shreyas Iyer was set at the other end.

A miscue to short mid-wicket ended what could have been another well-deserved ODI hundred for Rohit. But Iyer got to his half-century and remained unbeaten alongside KL Rahul as India completed a thumping seven-wicket win. They are now at the top of the table with three wins from as many games.
