The Royal London One Day Cup 2024 continued on Sunday, July 28 with seven matches across as many different venues.
In the first Group A match of the day, Kent beat Lancashire by five runs in a low-scoring thriller at Blackpool. After scoring 209 upfront courtesy of Harry Finch’s 48, Kent bowlers Matt Parkinson (4/30) and Beyers Swanepoel (3/26) restricted Lancashire to just 204. In other Group A results, Worcestershire (260) trounced Durham (167) by 93 runs in Worcester off the back of captain Jake Libby’s 89 and a five-fer from Tom Hinley.
Between Hampshire and Somerset at Southampton, the former emerged victorious by five wickets in a run-chase of 243 owing to an unbeaten 96 from Toby Albert.
In Group B, Sussex and Warwickshire engaged in a thriller where the latter prevailed by a wicket while chasing 174. Will Rhodes headlined the chase with 60 runs while Michael Booth (3/16) hogged the limelight with the ball. Essex steamrolled Gloucestershire by 63 runs after amassing 262/8 owing to half-centuries from Robin Das and Luc Benkenstein.
Nottinghamshire beat Yorkshire by 83 runs despite listing just 209 upfront. Brett Hutton orchestrated Nottinghamshire’s huge win by claiming figures of 6/38. In the final Group B match of the day, Glamorgan overcame Surrey’s 121 with seven wickets and more than 34 overs to spare. After the collective brilliance of bowlers, Glamorgan batter Colin Ingram top-scored with an unbeaten 39 in the run-chase.

Andrew Umeed moved to 198 runs to top the run-scoring charts of the Royal London One Day Cup 2024 season. He is followed by Ed Barnard with 184 runs at number two, and Ed Pollock with 182 runs at number three.
Ben Brown and Josh Bohannon take the subsequent two slots with 154 and 152 runs each. Keaton Jennings (151 runs), Will Rhodes (149 runs), Harry Came (134 runs), Haseeb Hameed (133 runs) and Ben Slater (131 runs) round up the overall top 10 list by occupying the final five positions on the batting table.

Ed Barnard tops the wicket-taking table of the Royal London One Day Cup 2024 season with eight scalps. Brett Hutton and Dominic Goodman claimed seven wickets to take the second and third slots on the table. Similarly, Dan Douthwaite and Oliver Hannon-Dalby round up the top five wicket-takers with six wickets each to their credit.
Ben Coad, Andy Gorvin, Tom Hinley, Beyers Swanepoel and Eddie Jack occupy the bottom half of the top 10 list with five wickets each.
