Hollywood star Hugh Jackman of Wolverine fame was in the audience witnessing all the live action that unfolded on Day 1 (December 26) of the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test between Australia and India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The actor posted a video of the same on his official social media account.
Hugh Jackman has often associated himself with cricket in the past, with the actor famously facing Shane Warne for a couple of deliveries years ago. He is also a big fan of the Australian cricket team and sent a message to the fans of Team India during the 2017 BGT.
On Thursday, Hugh Jackman took to his official X account to share images and a video of the same. He also praised debutant opener Sam Konstas, in particular, mentioning his first ball. Jackman added the following caption to his post:
"Sensational day at @MCG. @ausmencricket. Sam Konstas. 19 years old. First ball."

Australia in high spirits at the end of Day 1 of BGT 2024-25 fourth Test
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Australia posted 311/6 after 86 overs. The top four of Sam Konstas (60 off 65), Usman Khawaja (57 off 121), Marnus Labuschagne (72 off 145) and Steve Smith (68* off 111) scored half-centuries as Australia ended the day on a high.
For Team India, Jasprit Bumrah (3/75) picked up three wickets, with Akash Deep, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja also sharing a wicket each. The Indian bowlers had a field day, with six bowlers being used in particular.
The five-match series is currently poised at 1-1, with India winning the first Test at Perth, Australia winning the day-night Test at Adelaide and the third Test at the Gabba ending in a draw. A win for either team in this game will strengthen their chances of a place in the final of the World Test Championship.
