Team India's veteran leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal didn't find a place in the Men in Blue's T20I and ODI squads for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour. Interestingly, he was part of India's 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad.
Chahal was benched throughout the showpiece event, not getting to feature in the playing XI even once. His exclusion from India's T20I squad for the Sri Lanka series surprised many fans as the senior player was dropped from the side despite not getting a single chance at the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Many fans took to social media, expressing their displeasure over Chahal's snub. Here are some of the top reactions:
A few supporters even suggested that Chahal should consider announcing his retirement from international cricket.
"Sucks to be yuzvendra chahal. He should just take retirement and get permission to play overseas cricket leagues," commented a fan.
"Why is chahal missing out in squads? What wrong he has done? Selection team is highly unfair with Chahal." remarked another.
"Snubbing class bowler like Yuzi Chahal from Sri Lanka ODI and T20I series and not giving him role clarity will not go down well!!!!!! This guy deserve game time..." chimed in yet another.

Yuzvendra Chahal last played for India in August 2023
Yuzvendra Chahal's last appearance for Team India came on August 13, 2023, when he was part of India's playing XI in the T20I series against West Indies.
While he was named in India's squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa last year, he couldn't find a place in the playing XI. Chahal returned to the T20I team for the 2024 T20 World Cup after an impressive run in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).
Playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR), the crafty spinner picked up 18 wickets from 15 games at an economy rate of 9.41. It is worth mentioning that with 96 scalps in 79 innings, Chahal is India's leading wicket-taker in T20Is.
