SKY was promoted to bat at No.3 while MI were chasing 200 on a flat track at the Wankhede. He came in to bat following the dismissal of the rampant Ishan Kishan (42 off 21 balls).

The MI batter was more watchful from the other end while allowing his partner Nehal Wadhera to do the maximum damage. SKY relied more on finding the gaps against slower ones of Vyshak Vijaykumar and Harshal Patel.

He soon accelerated after smashing Wanindu Hasaranga for a six over deep mid wicket. Suryakumar Yadav didn't even spare RCB fast bowler Mohammed Siraj as he hammered a four and a six in the 14th over to complete his 19th IPL fifty.

Hasaranga was smashed for a couple of more sixes in the next over by the star MI batter. SKY hit Vyshak for two sixes and a four before he holed out to Kedar Jadhav at deep backward square leg. However, Suryakumar had done plenty to give MI the finishing touches and the home side chased the mammoth score with 3.3 overs to spare.
