Tanzim Hasan Sakib shoulder barges Pakistan all-rounder in a fiery exchange during BPL 2025 match [Watch]

Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib was involved in a major altercation with Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz during the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) clash between the Sylhet Strikers and the Khulna Tigers on Sunday, January 12.

The Sylhet Strikers set the Khulna Tigers a target of 183, and the game was well-poised at the end of the 16th over. Mohammed Nawaz was well set on 33 and had momentum on his side after dispatching Reece Topley for a couple of boundaries in the previous over.

The left-handed all-rounder eyed a slog over the off-side infield and was outdone by Tanzim's slower delivery from around the wicket. Nawaz's bat was stuck midway through the stroke, causing the ball to find the outside edge and loop it to short third man for a comfortable catch.

Tanzim had a few words to say after the dismissal and barged into the departing Mohammad Nawaz. The Pakistani all-rounder did not back down and got involved to kick-start a verbal exchange. The players were face to face in the middle of the pitch before Tanzim aggressively gestured for him to go back to the pavilion.

The dismissal reduced the team to 130-6 after 16.1 overs. Nawaz had to depart after scoring 33 runs off 18 deliveries, with three fours and two sixes.

The right-arm pacer conceded only six runs in the over after dismissing Mohammad Nawaz. Although he conceded 15 runs off his final over in the dying stages of the contest, the team kept their nerve to defend the target in the end.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib was fined 15 percent of his match fee in June 2024 after an altercation with Nepal captain Rohit Paudel, during the 2024 T20 World Cup group stage encounter in St.Vincent.
