Birmingham Phoenix and Southern Brave met in the Eliminator of The Hundred Men's 2024 at the Kennington Oval in London on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Birmingham opted to bowl first and limited Brave to 120. Southern Brave skipper James Vince led with 43 off 35, while Leus du Plooy added 39 off 32. Adam Milne claimed three wickets for the Phoenix.
In response, Liam Livingstone’s 34-ball 55-run knock aided his side to reach near the target. However, after his dismissal, the side struggled before levelling the scores on the last ball, leading to a super-five.
Southern Brave’s Jofra Archer dismissed Livingstone on the first ball, but Jacob Bethell scored a boundary on the next ball.
While chasing eight in five, Chris Jordan and Kieron Pollard opened for the Phoenix. Pollard scored a single on the first ball of Milne, while Jordan hit two fours and a double in the next three balls, guiding his team to the finals.
