Southern Brave emerged triumphant against the Trent Rockets by two wickets in the 24th match of The Hundred Men’s 2024 at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, August 11.
Chris Jordan scalped three wickets in the first inning to help the Southern Brave restrict the Rockets at 126/8, while Kieron Pollard’s 23-ball 45 ensured that the Brave chased the target with one delivery and two wickets to spare.
Meanwhile, Sophia Gardens hosted the 25th match of the season and the second game of the day between Welsh Fire and Birmingham Phoenix. Fire skipper Tom Abell elected to bat first as they went on to score 146/8 in their 100 deliveries. Stephen Eskinazi (30 off 21) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (54 off 32) top-scored for the Welsh Fire, while Sean Abbott (4/16) was the highest wicket-taker for the Phoenix.
Birmingham Phoenix were tasked with a herculean target of 147 runs in the second inning. England internationals Ben Duckett (54* off 31) and skipper Moeen Ali (60* off 46) made light work of the chase, helping the Phoenix bag this encounter with five wickets in hand and a total of seven deliveries to spare.

James Vince is miles ahead of anyone as far as the highest run scorer’s list is concerned. He has amassed a total of 338 runs in seven matches, occupying the top spot on the runs leaderboard.

T-20 specialist Chris Jordan has transitioned his masterful bowling skills into a slightly shortened 100-ball per-inning game as he is atop the most wickets chart in this season's Men's Hundred. The Southern Brave bowler has claimed 14 wickets in seven games at an economy rate of 7.55.
Sam Curran and Adam Zampa, having snared 13 wickets each in six matches, occupy the second and third places, respectively. Haris Rauf (11) and Tymal Mills (11) have had impressive outings so far this campaign, and they see themselves occupying the fourth and fifth places, respectively.
Birmingham Phoenix’s Sean Abbott after his 4-fer against the Welsh Fire is sixth on the wicket-taking charts with nine scalps to his name, while Rashid Khan of the Trent Rockets is in the seventh position with nine wickets.
