Trent Bridge hosted the 20th match of the 2024 Women’s Hundred between Trent Rockets and London Spirit on Wednesday, August 7. The visitors won the toss and elected to bowl first as Trent Rockets openers Bryony Smith (34 off 22) and Grace Scrivens (55 off 43) gave their side a stupendous head start in the first innings.
Smith hit four boundaries and one six and had a blazing strike rate of 154.54, while Scrivens’ knock was a much more controlled one, scoring her runs at a strike rate of 127.90.
Cameos from skipper Nat-Sciver-Brunt (21 off 12) and Heather Graham (22* off 12) helped the Rockets post a competitive score of 158/5 in the first 100 deliveries. Deepti Sharma (2/25) was the highest wicket-taker for London Spirit.
Despite efforts from Meg Lanning (23 off 18), skipper Heather Knight (29 off 20), and Deepti Sharma (30* off 23) the London Spirit could only manage 127/7, falling 31 runs short of the target.
The bowling duo of Ashleigh Gardner (3/23) and Alana King (3/23) helped the Rockets derail the London-based franchise to win the 20th encounter of the campaign
