Welsh Fire beat Southern Brave by nine wickets in the first match of the day on Wednesday (August 14) in the Hundred Women’s 2024 competition. Hayley Matthews won the Player of the Match after she picked up four wickets followed by an unbeaten 35-run knock. Chasing a target of 104, the Fire romped home with 26 balls left in their innings.
In the second match of the day, Oval Invincibles beat Trent Rockets by five wickets at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. After batting first, the Rockets scored 91 for eight on the back of Ash Gardner’s 43. The Invincibles chased down the target with six balls to spare.
The Hundred Women’s 2024 Most Runs List
Nat Sciver-Brunt is currently the leading run-scorer of the Hundred Women’s competition. In eight matches, she has scored 303 runs at an average of 60.60 and a strike rate of 137.10 with three half-centuries to her name. Danni Wyatt of the Southern Brave is second on the list. She's notched 227 runs from eight matches at an average of 32.42 with a top score of 61 to her name.
Laura Wolvaardt of the Manchester Originals and Annabel Sutherland of Northern Superchargers are in good form. Heather Knight, Deepti Sharma, Alice Capsey, and Beth Mooney have also been amongst the runs.
The Hundred Women’s 2024 Most Wickets List
Lauren Smith of the Superchargers is on top of the wicket-taker’s list in the Hundred Women’s 2024. She has taken 15 wickets from seven matches at an economy rate of 6.44. Veteran left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen of the Fire has taken 12 wickets from seven games with a three-wicket haul to show for her efforts.
Hayley Matthews jumped to third in the list, having picked up 11 wickets from seven games at an economy rate of 7.39. Emily Arlott, Sutherland, Marizanne Kapp, and Freya Davies have also been in impressive form.
