Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh doesn't believe he went through tough times to make it as a professional cricketer. Coming from a humble background, he believes struggling and working hard was part and parcel of what he wanted to achieve.

In a video posted by KKR on Instagram, Rinku weighed in on what he believes actual struggle is, and how he always focuses on the positives:

"Time is bad only for those who don't have hands or legs. We have hands and legs so our time is not bad. Everyone cried when India didn't win the World Cup. But all we can do is leave that behind and move on."

Rinku spoke about his role as a finisher and explained the importance of being calm and being present in the moment. He doesn't think a lot about the situation and just reacts to the ball bowled, thereby helping him stay focused and be consistent in the role.

"Hoping that I have the T20 World Cup in my hands" - Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh revealed that he hadn't won any trophies in senior cricket and wanted to win one soon. He will be a part of the Indian traveling reserves for the T20 World Cup in June and is hopeful that he will be able to get his hands on the silverware.

On this, the southpaw said:

"I have never won a trophy at the senior level. Now that I am going to the (T20) World Cup, I am hoping that I have the trophy in my hands. The dream is to win a big trophy."

Rinku also shed light on his emotional side and how he gets inspired by motivational Bollywood movies like '12th Fail.' He added:

"I am not really an emotional person, but sometimes when I watch movies with motivational scenes, I do cry. I cried a lot while watching 12th Fail. I can relate to it in a way, as I too rose from a difficult time."

While Rinku Singh hasn't had the best of impacts in IPL 2024 so far, he could still have a huge role to play as the Knight Riders face the SunRisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday, May 21.
