The Dindigul Dragons pummelled the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans by eight wickets in match 16 of the 2024 Tamil Nadu Premier League at Coimbatore’s Sri Ramakrishna College Ground.
In a rain-curtailed 13-over game, the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans batted first and charted 108/4 upfront. Openers Radhakrishnan and Tushar Raheja cracked dazzling 30s during their 71-run partnership in less than nine overs, before Suboth Bhati struck back for the Dragons with a three-wicket burst to claim figures of 3/14. Number three batter Amit Sathvik launched two sixes and as many boundaries during his 15-ball 28* to provide late flourish to the Tamizhans innings.
In pursuit of 109, the Dindigul Dragons lost both their openers within the first five overs to slip to 36/2. Wicketkeeper-batter Baba Indrajith steadied the Dragons’ response by punching out 31* from 25 balls, and shared an unbroken 75-run partnership with Bhupati Kumar (51* off 25 balls) to steer his team to victory with eight wickets and seven balls to spare.

Trichy Grand Cholas batter R Sanjay Yadav continues to top the TNPL 2024 run-scoring charts with 186 runs to his name. He is followed by second-placed Balasubramaniam Sachin (169 runs) by 17 runs and third-placed Narayan Jagadeesan (149 runs) by 37 runs. R Kavin also remained at number four with 145 runs to his profile.
IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans opener Tushar Rahega extended his TNPL 2024 tally to 136 runs to climb to number five on the list, while Waseem Ahmed slipped to number six with 132 runs. Baba Indrajith (115 runs) at number seven, and Pradosh Ranjan Paul and U Mukilesh (with 107 runs each) occupy the next two slots on the batting charts. Guruswamy Ajitesh, with 104 runs, finds himself at number 10 after the conclusion of match 16 of the TNPL 2024 season.

Lyca Kovai Kings bowlers M Shahrukh Khan and Mohammed Mohammed remain two of the most successful bowlers of the 2024 TNPL season so far, having snapped eight wickets each from their first four innings. K Easwaran, Murugan Ashwin, Abhishek Tanwar and M Poiyamozhi take the third, fourth, fifth and sixth slots respectively among the leading wicket-takers with seven wickets each to their name.
Athisayaraj Davidson, R Sonu Yadav and Ganeshan Periyaswamy take the subsequent three slots with six wickets each, while Chepauk Super Gillies’ Daryl Ferrario is ranked 10 on the top 10 charts with five wickets from four games.
