Virat Kohli failed to deliver again during the second innings of the ongoing pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide on Saturday, December 7. The right-handed batter departed for just 11 runs off 21 balls, caught behind by wicketkeeper Alex Carey while poking at a delivery outside the off-stump by Scott Boland.

Kohli had previously departed for just seven in the first essay, caught by Steve Smith in the first slip off Mitchell Starc. The twin failures came despite Kohli having three tons at the venue. He had slammed an unbeaten 100 in the first Test in Perth, where India won by 295 runs.

Fans on X expressed their disappointment as Kohli failed to score big once again in Adelaide. One user wrote:

"Virat Kohli failing in Adelaide. The end is near."

Another user wrote:

"No flat track No party for Virat Kohli."

A third user added:

"Kohli has some serious weakness to balls directed at the fifth and sixth stumps."

Australia dominate India on Day 2 of second Test; Virat Kohli and Yashavi Jaiswal fail twice

A clinical batting display from Travis Head and a stellar bowling performance by Scott Boland helped Australia dominate India on Day 2. Like Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal also flopped twice, scoring a golden duck and 24 in his two outings.

At the time of writing, the tourists were 86/4, with Rishabh Pant and skipper Rohit Sharma at the crease. They are trailing by 71 runs. Boland has bagged two wickets for the Aussies so far. Shubman Gill was the last batter to be dismissed, cleaned up by Mitchell Starc.

Earlier in the day, the Aussies posted 337 in their first innings to take a 157-run lead. Travis Head starred with the bat, scoring 140 off 141, comprising four sixes and 17 boundaries. Marnus Labuschagne also chipped in with 64. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj shared four wickets apiece.

Batting first, the visitors were bundled out for 180. Mitchell Starc bagged a six-fer, while Pat Cummins and Scott Boland shared two apiece.
