Team India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Akash Deep thanked star batter Virat Kohli for gifting one of his bats to him. The pacer took a photo of the same and uploaded a story on his official Instagram account.

There have been many stories of players asking for a bat from Virat Kohli. Vijaykumar Vyshak in a video released by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru said that he asked for a bat from the 35-year-old and scored a half-century with it. Rinku Singh has also been filmed asking the former Team India captain for a bat in the recently concluded Indian Premier League season.
Akash Deep makes it to Team India's squad for the first Test against Bangladesh
Akash Deep was selected in the squad that plays the first Test against Bangladesh on September 19 at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The pacer was a part of Team India earlier this year, making his debut against England in the fourth Test played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. He picked up three wickets, which included England openers Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley and number three batter Ollie Pope.
Akash Deep was also a part of the India A squad for the 2024 Duleep Trophy and also played the opening encounter. He picked up nine wickets across two innings, including a five-wicket haul in the second essay with the ball. He was also handy with the bat down the order, scoring 11& 43.
Team India take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, starting September 19. The first Test will be played at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
