Former cricketer Suresh Raina left a comment on Yuzvendra Chahal's recent social media post on Monday, October 21. The Indian leg-spinner was in action for Haryana during their Round 2 match of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy against Uttar Pradesh.

Although Chahal didn’t take any wickets in the game, he showcased his batting skills by achieving his highest first-class score. Coming in at number 10, Chahal scored 48 runs off 152 balls, hitting six boundaries.

After the match, the 34-year-old shared some photos from his innings on Instagram, captioning the post:

“Thank you, Lucknow 🤙🏻.”

Former UP player Raina was quick to react and commented:

“Wah ustad wah❤️❤️. Well played bro.”

Suresh Raina announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020. He represented India in 322 matches across all formats, amassing 7,988 runs, including 48 fifties and seven centuries. Raina concluded his IPL and domestic cricket career in 2022 and now participates in the Legends League and various tournaments worldwide.


Haryana vs Uttar Pradesh Ranji Trophy game ends in draw

Haryana won the toss and chose to bat first in their Round 2 match against Uttar Pradesh. Captain Ankit Kumar scored a solid 77 while Himanshu Rana (114) and Dheeru Singh (103) achieved impressive centuries.

Toward the end of the innings, Sumit Kumar (61) and Yuzvendra Chahal (48) added valuable runs as Haryana finished at 453. Shivam Sharma claimed five wickets for Uttar Pradesh.

In response, UP captain Aryan Juyal scored a commendable century, finishing with 119 runs. He received strong support from Rinku Singh, who fell just short of a hundred with 89 off 110 balls.

Tailenders Yash Dayal (41*) and Ankit Rajpoot (40) added 85 runs for the last wicket, but Uttar Pradesh was ultimately bowled out for 364. Jayant Yadav took four wickets for Haryana.

The match ended with Haryana at 72 for three in their second innings, resulting in a draw. Himanshu was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
