It is worth mentioning that Punjab secured a seven-run victory in their SMAT 2024 match against Haryana on Sunday, December 1, in Rajkot. They successfully defended a 197-run target.

Punjab will now face Rajasthan on Tuesday, December 3, in Rajkot.
Meanwhile, Abhishek was retained by the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) for ₹14 crore before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. Arshdeep, on the other hand, earned a massive salary hike as the Punjab Kings (PBKS) broke the bank to re-sign the seamer.
Arshdeep Singh was the most expensive pacer at IPL 2025 auction
Arshdeep Singh was released by the Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The left-arm pacer was expected to be in great demand at the auction, considering he is one of the best short-format bowlers in the country at present.
The 25-year-old's name sparked a bidding war at the IPL 2025 auction, with teams like the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titians (GT), Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Rajasthan Royals (RR) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) raising paddles.
Arshdeep was eventually sold to SRH for ₹15.75 crore. However, PBKS used their Right to Match (RTM) option and ultimately bagged the bowler at a whopping ₹18 crore, making him the most expensive pacer at the IPL 2025 auction.
