[Watch] Arshdeep Singh seeks blessings from Abhishek Sharma's mother after SRH-PBKS IPL 2024 clash

Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Arshdeep Singh walked up to the stands along with SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma to seek the blessings of the latter's mother after the encounter between the two teams on Sunday, May 19. Both players enjoyed successful outings, with Abhishek scoring a blistering 66 off 28 and Arshdeep picking up 2/37 in four overs.

However, the former's team (SRH) came out on top in a run-chase of 215 with a four-wicket win in the final over.

A day after the contest, Abhishek Sharma's sister took to Twitter to post a video of Arshdeep taking blessings from her and Abhishek's mother. He also cheekily said in Punjabi:

"Give me the blessings which you give to Abhishek".

Abhishek was adjudged the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock against PBKS. The 23-year-old has been in remarkable batting form in IPL 2024, scoring 467 runs at an average of 38.91 and a strike rate of almost 210 in 13 games.

Meanwhile, Arshdeep finished an impressive season with 19 wickets at an average of 26.57 in 14 games, with PBKS eliminated from playoff contention. However, the left-arm pacer has been picked for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and U.S.A., starting June 1.

Abhishek Sharma will be in action in Qualifier 1 against KKR today

Abhishek Sharma will be in action when SRH takes on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Qualifier 1 at Ahmedabad on Tuesday, May 21.

While KKR cemented the top spot on the points table a few days back, SRH had to wait until the final league-stage game to seal the second position. Their win against PBKS followed by the washed-out fixture between KKR and Rajasthan Royals (RR) helped them finish in the top two.

The winner of the KKR-SRH clash will advance to the final, while the loser will play the winner of the RCB-RR Eliminator on Friday, May 24.

KKR and SRH met once in the league stages, with the former emerging victorious in a thriller by four runs at the Eden Gardens. Abhishek impressed in that outing, scoring a quick-fire 32 off 19 deliveries. KKR finished the league stage with 20 points, while SRH ended with 17.
