[Watch] Australian commentator explains Travis Head's celebration on Day 5 of BGT 2024-25 4th Test 

Australia's Travis Head turned the game around for his side by dismissing Rishabh Pant early in the final session on Day 5 of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG. However, more than the wicket, it was his celebration that stole the spotlight. The handy all-rounder, who usually celebrates by placing his helmet on his bat handle after scoring a ton, unleashed a whole new gesture.

Head appeared to make a hollow form of his left hand and put the index finger of his right hand in it, leaving the viewers and the commentators puzzled. While the intent and the relevance of the celebration were being debated, Channel7 commentator James Brayshaw offered a rational explanation to end the chatter.

"After he took 4-10 in 17 balls in Sri Lanka in 2022. He was quoted as saying, ' had to put the digit on ice'," Brayshaw said on air

Before his spell of 4-10, Head was wicket-less in Test cricket across 10 innings where he bowled. The spell also included his maiden wicket as his contribution led to Sri Lanka being bowled out for 113, paving the way for a 10-wicket win for the visitors in Galle.

India were the favorites to etch out a draw after surviving the entirety of the second session, courtesy of Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, Head's breakthrough early in the final session led to Australia breaking the nagging partnership.

That particular opening was all that the hosts needed to trigger a collapse. The all-rounders and Yashasvi Jaiswal eventually perished as Australia claimed a massive win with 13 overs remaining in the day.

The Men in Yellow now lead the series by a 2-1 margin, with one more match remaining in Sydney, scheduled to begin from January 3.
