Kamran Ghulam starred with the bat for Pakistan on his Test debut against England in Multan on Day 1 (Tuesday, October 15). The 29-year-old hit a boundary to get to his century off 192 balls, a knock laced with one six and nine boundaries. He came out when the hosts were struggling at 19/2 before notching a fighting hundred.

Ghulam achieved the milestone in the 74th over of Pakistan’s first innings. The right-hander hit a boundary off Joe Root towards mid-wicket before punching in the air twice in delight as the crowd and teammates gave him a standing ovation. He removed his helmet and got down to kiss the turf. Mohammad Rizwan, who gave him his maiden cap, gave him a hug on the special achievement.
