Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia cheered for young India all-rounder Nitish Reddy following his maiden Test ton on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne on Saturday, December 27. The actress was seen dancing with joy alongside actor-husband Angad Bedi, as Reddy hit a boundary to get to the three-figure mark.
The stylish right-hander remained unbeaten on 105, hitting one six and 10 boundaries. The Andhra-batter also shared a 127-run partnership with Washington Sundar to help the tourists recover from 221/7 in response to Australia’s first innings total of 474.
Sharing the clip on Instagram, Dhupia captioned the post:
“A 100 @mcg we will always cherish… congratulations @nitish_kumar_reddy_7 n you maiden test 100 … we are happy to be in your corner !!! Thanks for the memory.”

Neha Dhupia was last seen attending an IPL fixture between the Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in the 2024 season. She reacted similarly when MS Dhoni slammed a hat-trick of sixes off Hardik Pandya in the last over, leaving fans floored.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar said he witnessed one of the greatest hundreds in the history of Indian cricket while praising the 21-year-old Nitish Reddy.
He told Star Sports (via The Times of India):
“This century by Nitish Kumar Reddy must rank as one of the greatest hundreds in the history of Indian cricket. This is the first Test hundred and he is going to score many more in the near future. I am expecting to see him among the runs in the future. He is a star of the Indian cricket.”
Nitish Reddy has gone strength to strength in the five-match Test series in Australia. He previously chipped in with three 40s in the first two Tests. The right-hander is currently the leading run-scorer for the tourists in the series with 284 runs, only behind Australia’s Travis Head, who has slammed two centuries.
At stumps on Day 3, the visitors were 358/9, with Reddy and Mohammed Siraj at the crease. India are trailing by 116 runs in their first innings.
