Australian batter Chris Lynn reminded everyone of his power-hitting prowess on Sunday, December 22, blasting a massive 104-meter six. The incident took place in the ninth match of BBL 2024-25 between the Adelaide Strikers and the Brisbane Heat at The Gabba in Brisbane.
The stunning shot came on the final ball of the third over of the Strikers' innings. Xavier Bartlett bowled a length delivery, and Lynn charged down the pitch, sending the ball soaring over deep mid-wicket for a towering 104-meter maximum.
Here’s a video of the six:
The 34-year-old scored 24 off 21 balls, including two boundaries and one six. Meanwhile, eight years ago in 2016, on the same ground, Chris Lynn grabbed the spotlight by hitting a massive 121-meter six for Brisbane Heat off a 148 km/h delivery bowled by Shaun Tait.
Decent contributions from Ollie Pope and Jamie Overton help Adelaide Strikers post a respectable total
The Brisbane Heat won the toss and chose to bowl. Xavier Bartlett gave the hosts a strong start, dismissing Adelaide’s opener D'Arcy Short for just one off three balls in the first over. Shortly after, captain Matthew Short was removed for 13 off 12 balls by Tom Whitney.
Chris Lynn played a quick cameo, scoring 24 off 21 balls. Alex Ross was then run out after scoring 20 off 15 balls, including three boundaries. England international Ollie Pope made 34 off 29 balls, with three fours and a six.
Towards the end, James Bazley contributed 23 off 11 balls, while Jamie Overton was the standout performer, remaining unbeaten on 45 off 24 balls, with three boundaries and as many sixes. The Strikers finished their innings at 174/6 from 20 overs. Will Prestwidge claimed two wickets for Brisbane.
The Heat won their opening game of the season, defeating the Melbourne Stars, while Adelaide has played two matches, winning one and losing one.
