Delhi Capitals (DC) captain David Warner left fans in splits after being involved in a funny banter with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja during the IPL 2023 match between the two teams at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, May 20.

The incident took place in the fifth over of Delhi's innings. Warner completed a risky single after hitting one in the cover region off Deepak Chahar's bowling. The batter had a narrow escape as Moeen Ali failed to hit the stumps at the non-striker's end.

Ajinkya Rahane, who stood at mid-wicket, collected the throw as he was backing up the bowler. Warner teased Rahane by standing outside of his crease, enticing him to throw the ball at the stumps.

He couldn't get the direct hit and the ball went into the hands of Jadeja. Warner looked towards the former CSK captain and hilariously imitated the southpaw's sword celebration in front of him.

Here's the video of Warner performing the sword celebration:

Notably, Chennai won the toss and decided to bat first. Opening batters Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad got their team off to a fantastic start, scoring 87 and 79 runs, respectively.

Shivam Dube (22) and Ravindra Jadeja (20*) also chipped in with quick-fire cameos with the bat, helping CSK post a mammoth 223-run total.

David Warner dazzled fans with spectacular innings vs CSK

Delhi batters failed to step up during the run chase against Chennai. David Warner fought a lone battle, not getting enough support from the remaining batters.

The DC captain impressed many with his fighting knock, scoring 86 runs off 58 balls. Warner hit five sixes and seven fours during his stay at the crease.

He was dismissed in the 19th over. The left-handed batter was undone by Matheesha Pathirana's slower delivery and ended up chipping the ball in the air. Ruturaj Gaikwad completed a wonderful diving catch at long-on.

David Warner and Co. finished at 146/9 in 20 overs, suffering an embarrassing 77-run defeat.
