Deepti Sharma fought back to dismiss Sidra Ameen after getting hit for a boundary in the Women’s T20 World Cup game between India and Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday, October 6. Amin walked back for just eight runs off 11 balls as the Women in Green lost their second wicket inside the powerplay.
The dismissal came in the fifth over of Pakistan’s innings. Deepti bowled a tossed-up delivery that spun in from off. Sidra shuffled in to play back-to-back sweep shots but only managed a deflection from her glove onto the body and then to the leg stump. The right-hander looked livid with herself as she walked back to the pavilion. Deepti took her first wicket in the World Cup after returning wicketless against New Zealand.
